Profile
As a young child Marquez Munoz and his family refuged in Dallas, Texas. He was raised in a crowded household with a rotation of extended-family members moving in and out of his home who -just like his immediate family- were looking for their chance at opportunity. The education he received all through grade school, along with the cultural duality that he experienced through his exposure in the city of Dallas, helped shape his creative perspective. He received his formal art training from the University of North Texas, (BFA 2020) and lives and creates in Oak Cliff. Munozs' interests are in navigating concepts tied to the universal human experience: often simple sentiments that he hopes allows the viewer to experience a range of emotion from an internalized moment, to the perception of time and its extent.
